About Us
We, the Orange County United States Bowling Congress (OCUSBC), are the local association of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) serving bowlers in Orange County, CA. USBC is the national governing body of the sport of bowling and it was formed in 2005 by merging the American Bowling Congress (ABC, which formerly served male bowlers), the Women’s International Bowling Congress (WIBC, which formerly served lady bowlers), and the Young American Bowling Alliance (YABA, which formerly served youth bowlers) associations. Following the formation of the national USBC organization, the Orange County ABC, WIBC, and YABA chapters were combined, forming the current Orange County USBC organization. The boards and staffs of the three previous Orange County associations, known for working together toward the common goal of providing the best possible service to all of their customers, embraced the merger concept years before it actually happened, and we are proud to say that we were one of the first areas in the country to merge our three associations into one.
Our jurisdiction is the County of Orange in the State of California, in which there are 9 bowling centers which host many USBC-certified adult and youth leagues:
- AMF Carter Bowl in Fullerton
- Concourse Bowl in Anaheim
- Forest Lanes in Lake Forest
- Fountain Bowl in Fountain Valley
- Irvine Lanes in Irvine
- La Habra 300 Bowl in La Habra
- Linbrook Bowl in Anaheim
- Saddleback Lanes in Mission Viejo
- Westminster Lanes in Westminster
In addition, we host the following tournaments each year:
- Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL)
- Open Championships Tournament
- Women’s Championship Tournament
- Youth Championship Tournament
- Senior Tournament
- Richard Naylor Mixed Doubles Tournament
The OCUSBC Board of Directors consists of 17 volunteers, all of whom devote their time and effort to serve the bowlers in Orange County, together with our two employees. If you are interested in joining our board, please read, complete and send the OCUSBC Board & Delegate Application to the OCUSBC Association Office, attn.: Nominating Committee, for consideration. Voting takes place at the OCUSBC Annual Meeting each May.
